People Operations Coordinator | Part time, 25 hours per week | Brisbane CBD
Compare Club is one of Australia’s largest comparison businesses. We help everyday Australians compare insurance and financial products so they can make confident decisions and get more value and peace of mind. Behind that is a People & Culture team that looks after our own people just as carefully. That’s where you come in, in a part-time role (25 hours a week) based in our Brisbane CBD office.
About The Role
As part of our People & Culture team, you’ll provide hands-on People Operations support to our workforce across the full employee lifecycle. That covers onboarding, contract variations and offboarding, along with our people systems, WHS and return-to-work processes. You’ll be the go-to People Operations person in our Brisbane office, backed by a national P&C; team.
The role is 5 hours a day, Monday to Friday. Start and finish times may change from week to week between 9am and 5pm, with your hours confirmed in advance, so some flexibility in your schedule is important.
You’ll own the day-to-day running of our people processes in Queensland, working closely with the wider P&C; team, who lead on HR advice and employee relations. It’s a great fit for someone who takes pride in accuracy and wants to build their career in People Operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinating onboarding, including background checks, pre-employment paperwork and new starter setup
- Preparing contract variations and other employee documentation
- Managing offboarding, including exit paperwork and system updates
- Keeping People systems and employee records accurate and up to date
- Acting as the local first point of contact for visa queries,
and escalating to our visa partner
- Assisting with workers compensation and return-to-work admin
- Arranging and supporting the local WHS Committee, Fire Wardens and First Aiders, including meetings and training records
- Supporting employee engagement initiatives, such as company celebrations and team events
- Providing light office support, such as liaising with building management and vendors
What you’ll bring
To Be Considered, You’ll Need Either
- A qualification in HR or a related field (completed or currently studying), or
- At least 2 years’ experience in an HR or People Operations administration role, handling processes like onboarding, contract variations and employee records
You’ll also bring:
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Confidence with digital systems and a willingness to learn new tools
- Clear communication and discretion with confidential information
- A flexible, proactive approach to a varied workload
- Willingness to travel interstate occasionally to connect with the wider People & Culture team
It’s a bonus if you have WHS committee training (e.g. Cert IV in WHS), Return to Work Coordinator accreditation or HRIS experience.
What We Offer
- A permanent part-time role in a stable, growing company
- A lovely, modern office in the Brisbane CBD, close to public transport with plenty of cafes and dining nearby
- Modern systems, automation and AI tools that take care of repetitive work, so you can focus on people
- Real development: training, a team that backs you, and a culture of promoting from within
- A generous Annual Leave Policy
- Access to our Employee Wellness Program
