Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA)…Your chance to work with the best!
The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is building a current 10.2km rail line that includes 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD; with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street.
Once complete, it will provide trains with a much-needed alternative rail path through the core of the current SEQ Rail network, unlocking a bottleneck and allowing more trains to run more often across the whole of South East Queensland.
The Cross River Rail Delivery Authority is also delivering multiple supporting projects and activities in conjunction with the Department of Transport and Main Roads. These include accessibility rebuilds for eight surface stations, construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast; upgrades for stabling yards; track works and surface rail enhancements; and the introduction of a new ETCS digital signalling system.
About the Role
As Senior Property Advisor, you will work closely with the Senior Legal Counsel in managing land matters across the Cross River Rail project, with a focus on construction and operational access, lease and licence arrangements, permanent operational tenure and complex land handbacks. You will drive the coordination property activities across land with varied ownership and tenure, maintain reliable land and infrastructure records, monitor agreements and key dates, and provide independent, evidence based advice, reports and recommendations to support informed decision making.
Working within the in-house Corporate Legal, Land and Compliance team, you will engage with contractors, Queensland Rail, commercial parties, survey consultants, councils and State Government stakeholders to support the orderly transition of land into enduring tenure arrangements.
This opportunity is offered as a fixed-term contract until December 2028 with possible extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify land ownership, tenure, access and interface arrangements across project parcels and precincts.
- Maintain current mapping and accurate records of project land, infrastructure, leases, licences and contractor access areas.
- Monitor lease and licence obligations, key dates, inspections, rental reviews, extensions and staged land handbacks.
- Support operational tenure outcomes, including boundary changes, survey plans, road openings and closures, and enduring tenure arrangements.
- Review property agreements, survey and reconfiguration plans, and land documentation to identify requirements, risks and barriers.
- Assist with acquisitions, tenure changes and disposals through negotiated and statutory processes.
- Prepare clear reports, briefings, correspondence and evidence-based recommendations on complex property matters.
- Build effective working relationships with contractors, technical specialists, asset owners, landowners and government entities.
About You:
- Proven experience in land dealings across multiple tenures and transaction types, ideally within a large infrastructure environment.
- Experience managing complex land access, handback or transition arrangements and achieving tenure outcomes through negotiated and statutory processes.
- Strong ability to interpret property agreements, tenure arrangements, survey plans and other land documentation.
- Sound judgement and analytical capability to identify property requirements, interfaces, risks and barriers and provide practical recommendations.
- Ability to work autonomously, establish priorities, manage competing matters, meet deadlines and escalate issues appropriately.
- Highly developed written communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge of tenure arrangements in rail corridors will be highly regarded.
