About The Role

We currently have an opportunity for a motivated Maintenance Fitter to join our Melbourne based team.

Reporting to the Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor, this role is responsible for a range of maintenance activities that support the operations team, ensuring the effective utilisation of machinery and the maintenance and improvement of site facilities to enable safe and efficient manufacturing operations.

You will be:

- Maintain and improve a diverse range of manufacturing equipment, facilities and infrastructure.
- Complete preventative maintenance, inspections and condition monitoring activities to maximise equipment uptime.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults, breakdowns and equipment reliability issues.
- Support machine installations, relocations, upgrades and commissioning projects.
- Manufacture and repair tooling, jigs and fixtures to support production requirements.
- Participate in shutdowns, continuous improvement initiatives and site improvement projects.
- Work closely with production teams to improve equipment performance, safety and efficiency.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately and in accordance with WHS, quality and maintenance management requirements.

What We Are Looking For





As an integral part of the team within a wider business, you will be a clear communicator and an effective team player that can manage and prioritise multiple tasks simultaneously.

The successful candidate will require the following attributes:

- Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner or equivalent recognised mechanical trade.
- Minimum 3 years' experience within a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding capability, with experience resolving equipment breakdowns.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance and working with maintenance management systems and documentation.
- Sound understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
- Experience supporting machinery installation, commissioning, modification or continuous improvement activities would be highly regarded.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Positive, proactive attitude with strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
