Ready to take the next step and leap into production leadership?
If you've built your career on the factory floor and know aluminium façade, window or door manufacturing, this could be the leadership opportunity you've been looking for.
Your new company
My client specialises in façades, windows, steel and cladding and is committed to quality craftsmanship and manufacturing. They are looking for a hands-on leader to work as a Production 2IC and support the day-to-day running of a busy manufacturing operation.
Working alongside the Production Manager, you'll play a key role in coordinating people, priorities, materials, quality and safety, whilst maintaining quality standards, and troubleshooting manufacturing issues. You'll also take an active role in driving OH&S; across the site, helping ensure safe work practices are understood, implemented and continually improved.
Your current role
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who understands aluminium façade, window or door manufacturing and is comfortable moving between production planning, troubleshooting, team leadership and the factory floor. A strong technical knowledge, natural leadership ability and willingness to stay hands-on is essential. You must understand what happens on the factory floor and not be afraid to get involved when production demands it.
You might already be supervising a production team, or you might be the experienced person everyone turns to when there's a manufacturing issue that needs solving. Management experience is welcome, but it's not a deal-breaker!
Your day-to-day duties include:
- Coordinating daily production planning,
priorities and workflow
- Allocating production labour to meet manufacturing requirements
- Identifying and resolving production bottlenecks and troubleshooting technical issues
- Assisting with the coordination and management of incoming materials
- Overseeing quality processes and production documentation
- Providing practical training, coaching and support to production team members
- Leading and supporting site safety initiatives, including safety walks and ongoing OH&S; improvements
- Conducting site inductions and developing or improving induction documentation
- Assisting with materials, machinery and equipment testing
What you'll need to succeed
- A strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
- Background within aluminium façade, window or door manufacturing
- CNC knowledge and experience
- Exposure to OH&S; within a production environment is highly regarded
- Confidence training and mentoring others
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- A practical, hands-on approach to leadership
- Previous supervisory or management experience is beneficial, but not essential
What you'll get in return
You'll have the opportunity to broaden your leadership experience while remaining close to the technical side of manufacturing. It's a role with genuine variety across production, people leadership, quality, CNC operations and safety. This is a permanent position with an attractive remuneration package, working alongside a supportive team and in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
