Job Purpose

The Financial Accountant is responsible for a broad range of accounting activities that support the accurate management and reporting of the organisation’s financial resources. The role ensures compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal policies and controls, legislative obligations, and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and post journal entries and support the month-end close process.
- Complete balance sheet and key account reconciliations, including complex transit, intercompany, and suspense account reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items in collaboration with relevant business stakeholders.
- Maintain a complete and accurate general ledger.
- Collect, compile, verify, and analyse financial information to support management reporting and the preparation of accounting statements.
- Assist with statutory accounts, financial reporting, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and SOX controls.




- Prepare supporting evidence for internal control requirements and respond to internal and external audit requests.
- Participate in discussions with auditors and business teams, providing clear and timely financial information.
- Develop practical Excel models and tools to improve the efficiency and accuracy of routine finance activities.
- Share finance knowledge and provide guidance on relevant systems, processes, and tools.
- Build effective working relationships across the business and provide finance support when required.
- Work independently, manage priorities, and deliver quality outcomes with minimal supervision.

Experience Required

The ideal candidate will have approximately 3–6 years of relevant financial accounting experience and demonstrate strong technical accounting, reconciliation, analytical, stakeholder-management, and communication skills.
