Our Corporate Operations Group Macquarie Capital Data team is responsible for delivering trusted, governed and reusable financial data products that support business operations, reporting, analytics and decision-making across Macquarie Capital. Our team work closely with business stakeholders, data specialists and engineering teams, to transform complex enterprise data into reliable, fit-for-purpose solutions that enable greater transparency, consistency and confidence in business outcomes.

What role will you play?

As a Technical Business Analyst (Data), you will play a key role in delivering data-focused technology initiatives, partnering with business subject matter experts, data engineers and system owners to transform business requirements into scalable data solutions. You will investigate and analyse enterprise data, define technical requirements and data transformation rules, and support the delivery of high-quality data products that meet business needs. Using your strong analytical and technical skills, you will help drive informed decision-making while improving the accuracy, quality and governance of financial data across the organisation. You will profile enterprise data and use PostgreSQL (AWS Redshift) and Oracle SQL to investigate issues, validate requirements and prototype solutions. You will support data engineers through build and testing,



ensuring delivered solutions meet the agreed requirements, design, quality and satisfy all the acceptance criteria. You will produce clear and accurate documentation that is usable by both business and technical stakeholders. The work also requires you to communicate impacts, dependencies, risks, and decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

What You Offer

- Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Data Business Analyst or in a similar role delivering data and technology initiatives, with the ability to translate business requirements into detailed technical solutions.
- Advanced SQL skills and a strong understanding of data integration, data warehousing, batch processing and data transformation methodologies, with experience working across large and complex datasets.
- Strong knowledge of data modelling, data quality, data lineage and relational databases, with the ability to investigate issues, validate requirements and identify practical solutions.
- Strong SQL development skills (PostgreSQL, Oracle or similar) and experience writing complex queries using joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, data reconciliations and transformation logic.
- Ability to produce clear requirements, data mappings, business rules,



technical specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and problem-solving skills, with experience working effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences in an agile delivery setting.
- Experience within financial services, investment banking, private capital, accounting or financial reporting environments would be advantageous, alongside a highly organised and detail-oriented approach to delivering outcomes through ambiguity.
