Company
An excellent opportunity to join a well-established, purpose-led organisation at an important point in its growth, integration and transformation journey.
Established more than 70 years ago, the organisation is a significant Australian member-based business with a strong reputation for delivering value to its customers and community. Following a major merger, it is now entering a new phase of growth and modernisation, with an opportunity to build on its strong foundations while developing a more innovative and future-focused organisation.
The culture is open, inclusive and genuinely people-focused. There is a strong sense of community and a shared commitment to doing the right thing for members. Financial discipline is equally important, with a clear focus on ensuring every dollar is spent wisely and delivers value.
Position
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer will lead the organisation's financial management, performance, governance and transformation.
This is a broad and highly influential CFO role, combining technical finance, commercial and strategic business partnering, and finance transformation.
You will work closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board, providing objective financial and commercial insight to support strategy, performance and long-term sustainability. The role encompasses financial reporting, FP&A;, budgeting and forecasting, treasury, investment management, financial governance, systems and process improvement, as well as oversight of the outsourced Internal Audit function.
A key priority will be to modernise Finance, strengthen systems and reporting, improve processes and build the capability required for the future. The role will also play an important part in the organisation's ongoing integration and transformation, requiring a CFO who can influence beyond Finance and bring people with them through change.
Profile
We are seeking a CA/CPA qualified CFO with strong technical financial capability and significant senior leadership experience in a complex organisation.
Experience in financial services, insurance or an APRA-regulated environment would be highly regarded, but is not essential. Robust CFOs from other complex, regulated or purpose-led organisations will also be considered.
You will bring strong capability across financial reporting, governance, controls, budgeting, forecasting and FP&A;, combined with commercial and strategic business partnering experience. You will be comfortable analysing and challenging the numbers, translating financial insight into clear business decisions and providing an objective perspective to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board.
Experience leading finance transformation, systems implementation, automation, process improvement and organisational change will be important.
Just as importantly, you will be an accomplished people leader. You will bring energy, ambition and high emotional intelligence, with the ability to build trust, develop capability and create a high-performing Finance function.
You will be confident challenging senior stakeholders when required, while remaining collaborative, humble and respectful. A genuine member or customer mindset and a solid appreciation of value, discipline and sound commercial judgement are essential.
Benefits
This is a significant CFO opportunity with genuine enterprise-level influence at an important point in the organisation's evolution.
You will have direct exposure to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board and the opportunity to shape the future capability of Finance while playing a key role in the broader integration and transformation agenda.
