Overview/n /nOne of our Federal Government clients is seeking an experienced Principal Java Software Engineer to support new development and enhancement of various customer-facing platforms and services used by millions of Australians./n /nThis is a senior technical leadership opportunity suited to an accomplished full-stack Java Engineer who enjoys leading Agile teams, driving engineering excellence, and delivering complex enterprise solutions within a large and sophisticated technology environment./n /n /n In this role, you will:/n /n /n
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of Java-based solutions within a large and complex enterprise environment. /n
- Provide technical leadership to Agile multidisciplinary teams, supporting developers and ensuring consistent engineering standards are followed. /n
- Drive software design, development, testing, deployment, and production support activities across the SDLC. /n
- Review technical solutions, provide expert advice, and work closely with stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes. /n
- Take ownership of delivery outcomes while promoting quality, security, maintainability, and continuous improvement. /n /n To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:/n /n /n
- Experience designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting complex software solutions within large-scale environments. /n
- Strong commercial experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Framework, RESTful APIs, SQL/DB2,



and modern web technologies. /n
- Hands-on experience with contemporary DevOps and cloud-native technologies, including Git, CI/CD, OpenShift/Kubernetes, containerisation, and API integration. /n
- Proven experience leading Agile software development teams and mentoring developers while driving engineering best practices and code quality. /n
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide technical leadership, influence delivery outcomes, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. /n /n What's on Offer?/n /n /n

- Multiple office locations in VIC, ACT, NSW, QLD, and SA /n /n Working Arrangements:/n /nFor the first six weeks of this engagement, you’ll be expected to work on-site full time. Following this onboarding period, hybrid working arrangements can be negotiated with your manager. Typical hybrid arrangements will be 50/50 onsite vs remote working./n /n /n Due to the nature of this role, this opportunity is open to Australian Citizens only.
