Cranbourne Carlisle Primary School: A Vibrant Learning Community
Cranbourne Carlisle Primary School, established in 2010, is a dynamic public school located in Cranbourne North, within the City of Casey. We are a Public/Private Partnership school committed to providing a high-quality education for our 580 students. Our curriculum, based on the Victorian and EAL Curricula, emphasises explicit teaching and inquiry approaches.
Our Focus:
- Individual Growth: We nurture the whole child, valuing academic success and the development of positive self-image, respect for others, and responsible global citizenship.
- Diverse Community: Our multicultural community celebrates diversity, approximately 65% of students speaking a language other than English at home. We embrace this richness through initiatives like Cultural Connections Days.
- Strong Values: Respect, Resilience, Collaboration, and Curiosity are at the heart of our dynamic culture, driving our vision to inspire a passion for learning.
- High Expectations: We hold high expectations for students, teachers, and the community, fostering an aspirational environment where everyone can reach their full potential.
- Wellbeing Focus: We prioritise student wellbeing through initiatives like Restorative Practices, Respectful Relationships, and Zones of Regulation, creating a supportive and inclusive environment. Social and emotional learning forms part of the explicitly taught curriculum through the Personal and Social Capabilities outlined in the Victorian curriculum.
- Collaborative Culture:
We foster a collaborative culture through Professional Learning Communities and a robust supportive environment. No staff member should feel alone in any aspect of their role. We value and aim to provide continuous professional growth for our staff.
Connecting with our Community:
We recognise that effective communication is essential for a strong school-community partnership. Given the diverse linguistic backgrounds of our families, we are committed to providing multiple avenues for parents to connect with us and for us to communicate with them. We strive to overcome language barriers by:
Using interpreting services.
Translating documents and messages both in text and audio.
Providing face to face opportunities for community members to speak with someone in `home language¿.
Showing empathy, understanding and patience when engaging with community members whose first or home language isn¿t English.
What We Offer:
- Cutting-edge resources: Supporting innovative learning experiences.
- Differentiated learning: Catering to individual needs and learning styles.
- Early intervention and enrichment: Providing targeted support and challenges for all students.
- Strong literacy and numeracy focus: Building foundational skills for success.
