About LEAP
You’ll be joining LEAP, part of ATI Global, one of the world’s largest LegalTech groups. Our product teams are building a fast-growing portfolio of AI-powered applications for law firms. Your job is to give those teams everything they need – paved-road tooling, automated guardrails and AI-powered assistants – so they can spend their time building product, not navigating process.
If you’re an engineer who thinks like an architect, loves automating the hard and boring parts, and wants to shape how a whole business adopts AI, this is the role for you.
Meet the team
This is your chance to design and build the engineering and AI platform for a global LegalTech business – one where guardrails are automated, compliance is built in, and people only step in when something genuinely needs a decision.
We’ve defined a development and release framework for our application teams with one clear objective: a manage-by-exception model. Instead of manual reviews and approval meetings, every application continuously reports its security, AI, quality and compliance status – and people only get involved when something is out of policy.
The framework and its target architecture are designed. Your job is to build it, automate it and make it real for the teams who use it. It starts with our application development teams, and that is the main focus – but you’ll have the opportunity to drive adoption of the framework across the whole business.
AI runs through all of it. You’ll help the business adopt AI widely, safely and cost-effectively – building the governance that shows who is using AI, how and at what cost,
and the tools that help more people use it well.
What you’ll do
Build the platform architecture
- Turn a defined target architecture into working shared services: build and deployment pipelines, environments, secrets management, an LLM gateway and observability.
- Design a "paved road" that makes the secure, compliant way to build and ship an app the easiest way.
- Own architecture decisions, document them clearly and evolve the architecture as the business grows.
Automate guardrails and manage by exception
- Build automated release gates into CI/CD: security scanning (SAST, dependency, secrets, IaC), SBOMs and policy-as-code that stops non-compliant deployments.
- Automate evidence collection so every application’s release readiness is visible at a glance, with failing or stale evidence flagged automatically.
- Build the dashboards that let leaders see the state of every application and step in only on exceptions.
Build AI-powered guardrails and bots
- Build AI agents and bots that speed up the development cycle – automated code and security review, release-readiness checks, documentation and developer self-service.
- Remove friction so engineers get environments, keys, access and answers without waiting on other people.
Drive AI adoption and governance
- Help build an AI governance framework that shows who is using AI, for what, and what it costs – across both our products and internal use.
- Route model usage through a governed LLM gateway with model allow-listing, cost attribution and usage telemetry.
- Drive adoption of AI coding tools and agents across engineering and the wider business, and help people get the most value at the lowest cost.
Build apps and integrations
- Build the integrations that connect product teams to platform APIs, internal services and external AI providers.
- Stay hands-on – much of what you design, you’ll build.
Make it happen across teams
- Work with product teams, security, DevOps, legal, quality and product leaders to agree standards and turn them into working systems.
- Drive adoption of the framework – first across our application teams, then across the business.
- Run workshops, write clear documentation and enable others – leading through influence rather than authority.
What you’ll bring
You’re an engineer who thinks like an architect and delivers like a builder. You see the whole system, automate anything you do twice, and enjoy bringing many teams to a better way of working.
You are:
- Pragmatic architect – you design for reality and ship working increments.
- Automation-first – if a person is checking it, you ask whether a machine could.
- A connector – comfortable working across many teams and building consensus.
- AI-native – you use AI tools every day and have robust views on using them well and cos
