About the Company

Our client is a well-regarded global manufacturer in the industrial space, headquartered in Europe, with a long-established presence across Australia and New Zealand. The local business is lean and commercially focused. It sits within a regional structure that gives it the systems and backing of a large multinational without the layers. Finance here sits close to the commercial decisions.

About the Role

In practice this role is a Senior Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner seat with a broader remit than most. Reporting to the GM Operations ANZ, you'll own management reporting, budgeting and forecasting for both countries. That means coordinating the annual budget and presenting results and outlook to regional and corporate stakeholders.

It's a 12-month fixed-term contract to start, with a strong likelihood of going permanent for the right person.

Responsibilities

- Coordinating the ANZ annual budget and regular forecast cycles, working with stakeholders to test the assumptions behind the numbers;
- Monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting for ANZ, regional and corporate audiences, including consolidation of ANZ results;
- Variance analysis against budget and forecast, explaining the why, not just the what;
- Partnering with the GM and ANZ management team on strategy, performance and key sales drivers (volume, price, mix and rebates);
- Financial modelling and scenario analysis to support pricing decisions, price increases and commercial proposals;

- Product and customer costing, standard cost reviews, and analysis of rebate schemes, accruals and true-ups;
- Monitoring working capital and productivity measures including DSO, DIO, inventory turns and margin;
- Reviewing processes and controls across ANZ functions and driving improvement where it’s needed; and
- Acting as back-up on month-end close and compliance, so a sound grounding in core financial accounting and controls remains significant.

Ideal Background

- You will be CA/CPA qualified;
- A grounding in financial accounting and controls, ideally with exposure to traditional statutory reporting;
- SAP experience ideal, preferably from an industrial, manufacturing or FMCG environment;
- Comfortable presenting to senior and regional stakeholders and holding your own in the room; and
- Hands-on and dependable, at ease working in a matrix structure across time zones, and keen to grow with the business.

Benefits

- A broad commercial seat with direct exposure to the GM and regional leadership, and a title that reflects it;
- A strong likelihood of the contract converting to permanent;
- Hybrid working, three days in the office and two from home;
- Western Sydney location with the M4 and M7 on the doorstep; and
- The stability and systems of a global multinational, inside a lean local business where your work is visible.
