Do currently work in Construction? Are you a Kerb Layer within the civil engineering space and looking for a new opportunity? If the answers are yes, we have roles opening with a reputable civil engineering company in the Brighton area.
- Set out and install concrete and stone kerbs, edgings and channels.
- Prepare and level ground and foundations prior to kerb installation.
- Lay kerbs accurately to line, level, gradient and specification.
- Mix and place concrete and other bedding materials as required.
- Use hand tools and small plant safely and effectively.
- Read and work from drawings, levels and site specifications.
- Carry out repairs, adjustments and finishing works where required.
- Work closely with groundworkers, machine operators and site supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
- Follow all site health and safety requirements and procedures.
- Ensure work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Kerb Layer, Kerber or Groundworker.
- Good understanding of kerb laying, levels, gradients and line.
- Ability to read basic construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience working on highways, roads, housing or civil engineering projects.
- Ability to use hand tools and relevant small plant.
- Valuable physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable Qualifications
- CSCS Card.
- CPCS/NPORS tickets for relevant plant.
- Manual Handling and Health & Safety training.
