An opportunity is available for an Account Manager to join the Queensland team, looking after existing customers while bringing new business into the company.
Role Description
My client is looking for an Account Manager who enjoys working with customers and has the drive to grow sales.
The role offers a good mix of account management and business development. You'll manage an existing customer base, build on those relationships and look for opportunities to increase sales, while also bringing new customers into the business.
You'll spend your time meeting builders, contractors, trade customers and other construction industry professionals, understanding what they need and helping them find the right products for their projects.
This is a hands-on sales role for someone who enjoys getting out on the road, meeting customers and taking responsibility for their results. You'll have an established business behind you and the opportunity to grow your accounts while developing new business across Queensland.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow relationships with existing customers
Identify and secure new business across Queensland
Visit customers regularly to understand their needs and identify opportunities
Build relationships with builders, contractors and trade customers
Prospect for new customers and develop sales opportunities
Conduct face-to-face meetings and site visits
Prepare quotes, negotiate pricing and follow up opportunities
Recommend suitable products based on customer requirements
Manage your sales pipeline and work towards agreed targets
Work with internal sales, operations and delivery teams to meet customer needs
Resolve customer issues and follow through to a solution
Keep up to date with local market activity and competitor movements
Role Requirements
Previous experience in account management, business development or external sales
Experience in building materials, construction supply or a related industry is preferred
Robust communication and relationship-building skills
Confidence dealing with builders, contractors and trade customers
The ability to look after existing accounts while winning new business
A proactive approach to prospecting and growing sales
Good commercial awareness, including pricing and margins
Strong organisation and time management skills
The ability to manage your own workload and customer portfolio
A current driver's licence
Salary and Benefits
Base $100k - $110k + Car + Bonus + Super 12%
