FC Lawyers is seeking a motivated and ambitious Early Career Lawyer to join our Commercial Litigation team.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with approximately 1-3 years PAE to develop their litigation practice while working closely with experienced practitioners. You will form part of a small and highly engaged Commercial Litigation team while also working alongside our broader Business and Corporate team.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to a variety of matters, develop direct client relationships, and play an active role in delivering practical legal solutions.
Key Responsibilities
You will work across a broad range of litigation and dispute resolution matters, including:
Debt recovery matters
Employment-related disputes
Insolvency and recovery matters
Alternative dispute resolution, including mediations and negotiations
The role will also involve:
Advising clients on complex business and commercial matters
Drafting legal correspondence, pleadings, affidavits, submissions and other court documents
Drafting commercial contracts, settlement deeds and employment documents.
Conducting legal research and preparing advice
Managing matters under the supervision of senior practitioners
Attending court appearances, mediations and client meetings
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Assisting with business development and networking initiatives
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Admission as a legal practitioner in Australia
Approximately 1-3 years PAE (preferred)
Experience in litigation or dispute resolution matters
Strong drafting, research and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A commercial and practical approach to problem-solving
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A desire to develop a long-term career in commercial litigation
