Our client is a well-regarded not-for-profit organisation providing essential community services across South East Queensland. As they approach year-end reporting and budgeting activities, they are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to provide hands-on leadership and support the finance function during a critical period.
Reporting to the CFO, you will lead a team of five finance professionals while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day financial management of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of five finance staff across financial accounting and transactional finance.
Oversee month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.
Prepare statutory financial statements and supporting schedules.
Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting process in partnership with operational leaders.
Manage profit and loss reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasting.
Support external auditors and coordinate year-end audit requirements.
Preparation of Government grant applications.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and regulatory obligations.
Provide financial analysis and commercial insights to support executive decision-making.
Assist with process improvements and strengthen financial reporting frameworks.
About You
CA or CPA qualified.
Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Financial Accounting leadership role.
Strong experience preparing financial statements and managing year-end reporting requirements.
Demonstrated budgeting, forecasting and financial planning expertise.
Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment and rolling up your sleeves when required.
Previous leadership experience with the ability to guide and support finance teams.
Experience within not-for-profit, community services, healthcare, education or government-funded organisations will be highly regarded.
Available to commence at short notice.
