The Prospect
Joining us on a 12-month contract with potential to extend, you'll play a key role within our Insurance & Claims team, managing a portfolio of complex claims from start to finish.
You’ll support members and their families through some of the most difficult moments in their lives, taking ownership of death, terminal illness and permanent incapacity claims. This is not a purely administrative role. It requires sound judgement, empathy, and the ability to make well considered recommendations in line with policy, regulation and our trust deed. Alongside your claims portfolio, you’ll also support underwriting activity, facilitating insurance applications and requests through to completion.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, external insurers and stakeholders,
balancing compassionate communication with strong case management to ensure claims progress smoothly and fairly.
You’ll also:
- Take end to end accountability for your claims portfolio, managing competing priorities and timelines
- Prepare detailed claims summaries and recommendations for decision making committees
- Interpret trust deeds, policies and legislation to inform claim outcomes
- Facilitate underwriting requests and insurance applications within agreed timeframes
- Build strong relationships with members, beneficiaries, insurers and advisers
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to better outcomes for members
- Stay across regulatory requirements, including the SIS Act, and apply these in your decision making
About You
You’re someone who knows claims isn’t just about process. It’s about people, judgement and doing the right thing when it matters most.
