RG Mining Consulting is looking for an experienced open pit mining engineer who wants to lead projects, work directly with clients and build valuable business skills.

Work across commodities and countries on mine studies, technical due diligence and project development. Bring your technical expertise and practical judgement—we’ll support you as you build experience in new commodities.

The opportunity

Working directly with Managing Director Ryan Gomez, you will:

- Lead mine planning, design, scheduling and optimisation.

- Deliver feasibility and life-of-mine studies.

- Assess projects and acquisitions for mining companies and investors.

- Contribute to Ore Reserve estimation and JORC reporting within your expertise.

- Manage assignments, present recommendations and build client relationships.

- Mentor engineers and contribute to the growth of RG Mining.





More than a technical role

Have an entrepreneurial mindset—or want to develop one? Gain practical experience in proposals, pricing, project commercials and winning work, with the opportunity to influence a growing consultancy.

About you

- Mining Engineering degree and 15+ years of open pit experience.

- Strong practical mining, design and planning capability.

- Experience with Spry and Deswik, Vulcan or similar software.

- Confident communicator who takes ownership and works independently.

- Curious, commercially minded and keen to learn.

- Willing to travel within Australia and internationally.

Coal and metals backgrounds welcome. Previous metals or business development experience is not essential.
