Side By Side Disability Services – Brunswick VIC Side by Side Disability Services is seeking a calm, patient and experienced Disability Support Worker to support a 22-year-old non-verbal autistic man at home and in the community. He communicates through behaviour, body language, routines and visual supports. We are looking for someone who understands complex communication needs and can provide consistent, respectful support. About the role

Assist with morning routines, personal care and community access.

Use simple language, visual supports and structured routines to support communication and transitions.

Follow established behaviour support strategies, recognise triggers and allow processing time.

Respond calmly and safely when he is anxious or overwhelmed, including to behaviours such as wrist-grabbing.

Work within a 2:1 support model initially.

Maintain accurate progress notes and a safe, respectful environment.

Requirements for all roles

Experience supporting autistic people and individuals with complex communication needs

Confident in spoken and written English

NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)





Working with Children Check (WWCC)

National Police Check

Current First Aid Certificate & CPR Certificate

NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate

Current Driver’s Licence

Reliable Vehicle with Comprehensive Insurance and Vehicle Registration
