Job Description

Supporting a respected Special Counsel and Senior Associate, this role offers the chance to move beyond traditional legal secretarial duties and become a key contributor to the growth and success of a developing local practice. This is an ideal opportunity for a proactive and commercially minded legal support qualified who enjoys working closely with senior stakeholders and taking ownership in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities will include: Complex diary and inbox management. Preparation, drafting and formatting of legal documentation and correspondence. Matter management and file administration. Coordinating meetings, travel arrangements and stakeholder engagement. Billing, timesheet management and client reporting. Liaising confidently with clients, counsel, courts and external stakeholders. Supporting business development initiatives, events and client activities. Providing operational support as the Canberra office continues its growth trajectory.





What you'll need
to succeed: Extensive experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant. Previous experience supporting a Partner, Special Counsel or senior legal practitioner. Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail. Advanced Microsoft Office and document production capabilities. Strong communication and relationship‑building skills. A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to work autonomously. A genuine desire to contribute to a growing practice and be part of a success story.
