The role:
Enjoy a role where no two days are the same? Put your organisation, customer service and problem-solving skills to work coordinating concrete deliveries across Melbourne
We're looking for a Dispatch Officer to join our close-knit Central Dispatch team at our Campbellfield office. This is a hands-on coordination role where you'll be the vital link between our customers, sales team, and 12 concrete plants across Victoria.
You'll manage the day-to-day concrete operations by scheduling jobs, coordinating truck movements across our fleet, and ensuring our customers receive outstanding service. Every day brings different challenges – it's like solving a puzzle, making sure the right trucks are in the right place at the right time to keep jobs running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Receive and process customer orders, ensuring all details are accurately entered into the dispatch system.
- Coordinate and schedule concrete deliveries, balancing customer requirements, delivery timeframes and plant capacity.
- Monitor truck availability across our Victorian concrete plants and liaise with the Transport team to address resourcing gaps.
- Oversee daily dispatch activity, working closely with plant teams to keep deliveries on schedule and maintain a high level of customer service.
- Review and adjust delivery schedules as operational demands change, reallocating jobs and trucks between plants where required.
- Build effective working relationships with customers, Sales, Transport and plant personnel to support efficient operations and reliable service delivery.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30am – 3.30pm (alternate Saturdays 7.30am – 11.30am)
About You
You’re an organised, proactive communicator who enjoys coordinating moving parts and finding solutions when priorities change. You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, building relationships across different teams and making decisions to keep operations running smoothly.
You’ll also bring:
- Experience in dispatch, scheduling, transport coordination, customer service or a similar operational role.
- Strong computer skills, with the ability to learn new systems and work confidently across multiple platforms.
- Intermediate Excel skills and confidence maintaining spreadsheets and operational records.
- Strong attention to detail when processing orders, managing schedules and updating information.
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to liaise with customers, plant teams and other stakeholders.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond to changing demands.
- A customer-focused mindset and the ability to remain calm and professional in a busy setting.
- Concrete or transport industry experience would be an advantage, but isn’t essential. We’ll provide on-the-job training to help you develop your knowledge of concrete and our operations.
