The Company Our client is a commercial builder offering a development opportunity for someone with a carpentry background who wants to build a long-term career in site management.

With a commitment to mentorship and internal training, they are looking for an aspiring Leading Hand who is keen to learn, take ownership and grow within the business.

The Role Working alongside experienced site management, you will support the day-to-day running of commercial construction projects while developing your supervision and coordination skills.

This would suit a carpenter ready to take on more responsibility, or an existing Leading Hand looking to transition into commercial construction.

The long-term aim is to develop towards a Site Manager position, supported by practical experience, mentorship and training.

You must be willing to travel to sites throughout the Melbourne metropolitan area.

Key Responsibilities





Assist the Site Manager with daily site operations and trade coordination

Take a hands-on approach to site tasks and resolving day-to-day issues

Help organise works, materials and deliveries to maintain progress

Monitor workmanship and assist with quality inspections and defect management Support site safety, housekeeping and compliance requirements

Develop your understanding of construction sequencing, programming and site supervision

The Ideal Candidate

Carpentry trade background with strong practical construction knowledge

A carpenter ready to step up, or a Leading Hand seeking commercial exposure

Long-term ambition to progress into a Site Manager role

Proactive, reliable and willing to learn from experienced site teams

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with subcontractors

Willingness to travel across the entire Melbourne metropolitan area
