Business Development Manager - Utility-Scale Solar & BESS Perth (priority) or Sydney | Full time, permanent

One of the world's largest solar technology manufacturers is growing its Australian team and hiring a Business Development Manager for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. The role is open in Perth (priority) and Sydney.

You will work alongside the Head of Utility-Scale Projects, selling the company's solar and battery storage solutions into utility-scale projects. This is a hands‑on, client‑facing role with real ownership of accounts and deals, suited to an early‑career engineer or salesperson who wants to grow fast in the utility‑scale solar and storage market.

Key responsibilities

Develop and win supply business for utility-scale solar and BESS projects in your region

Build relationships with developers, EPCs, IPPs and asset owners, from early project stage through to supply agreement

Track the project pipeline, qualify opportunities and keep the CRM up to date

Prepare quotes, tender responses and technical-commercial proposals with the product and engineering teams

Explain solar and BESS technology, performance and bankability to technical and commercial stakeholders

Support contract negotiation, delivery coordination and after-sales follow-up with customers

Feed market,



pricing and competitor information back to the regional and China-based teams

Travel within Australia to meet customers and attend project sites and industry events

About you

2-3 years' experience in sales, business development or project engineering in solar, BESS or the wider energy sector

Hands‑on involvement in utility‑scale solar or BESS projects, for example through a developer, EPC, OEM or supplier

Good understanding of the Australian utility‑scale project landscape: developers, EPCs and how supply deals are won

Solid communication skills and confidence working directly with senior customers

Full working rights in Australia and willingness to travel

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Experience with a tier-1 module, inverter or battery manufacturer

Existing network in the WA or NSW market
