Sage Intacct Practice Lead
- Sydney, Australia Grade: Senior Consultant or Principal Consultant
Location:
Sydney, Australia Team: APAC Reports to: APAC Director Contract and Work Pattern: Full Time & Hybrid Base
Salary:
AUD $120,000
- $160,000 per year Start Date: Q4 2026 This role is likely to suit an experienced Sage Intacct consultant who wants more ownership of outcomes, in a less bureaucratic environment which encourages pragmatism and decisiveness. What's the Job? VantagePoint is looking for an experienced Sage Intacct consultant to lead delivery for our Sage practice in APAC. You'll be our lead Sage delivery person in the region, so this is a hands-on role. You'll run implementations end to end, act as design authority on our projects and set the standard for how we deliver Intacct for our clients. We're a successful Sage partner in EMEA, and we're looking to expand that capability and scale our existing assets into Asia Pacific. Alongside client work, you'll adapt our delivery approach and assets for APAC clients, upskill our existing consultants on Intacct, support scoping and demos on new opportunities, and be the day-to-day delivery contact for Sage. You'll also work closely with our APAC Director on growing our Sage relationship, pipeline and accounts, so you'll be involved in every part of the practice. We added more than ten new Australian clients in 2026, opened our Sydney office in September 2025 and have been named Workiva Innovation Partner of the Year twice. We want to do the same with Sage: exceptional delivery quality, a close working partnership and a focus on value at every turn. You'll be close to everything: delivery, sales, partner management and hiring. As the practice grows, we'd expect the role to grow with it, including leading new hires, managing resourcing across the portfolio and taking on more of the commercial side, such as pricing, pipeline and account growth. What are the Responsibilities / Role? Delivery
• Leading Sage Intacct implementations end to end, accountable for quality, timelines and the result, including:
• Running kick-off, discovery and requirements workshops with finance and technical stakeholders.
• Designing charts of accounts, dimensions and multi-entity structures, including consolidation and intercompany.
• Acting as design authority and leading design walkthroughs with the client to explain the solution and get their buy-in.
• Configuring core finance modules, workflows, dashboards and reports.
• Overseeing integrations with CRM, payroll, banking and other systems.
• Running unit and internal testing to make sure the build works exactly as expected before it goes to the client.
• Owning data migration, from mapping through to reconciliation.
• Designing and delivering end-user training.
• Running testing and UAT with the client.
• Managing cutover and go-live.
• Providing hypercare and post go-live support.
• Picking up existing Intacct environments that need work, whether that's adding new functionality, running upgrades or fixing an implementation that isn't doing its job.
• Managing project budgets and timelines with a close eye on the commercials.
• Upskilling our existing consultants on Sage Intacct so they can support your projects. As the team grows, you'll also lead and develop new hires. Clients
• Acting as a trusted advisor to CFOs, Finance Directors and Finance Systems Managers, and managing senior stakeholders on your projects.
• Reviewing how our clients' finance processes work today and advising on how to get the best out of Intacct to simplify them.
• Giving clients and our leadership team honest, timely updates, including when things aren't going to plan. Growing the Practice
• Adapting our existing EMEA Sage assets, templates and accelerators for APAC clients, and adding to them so each implementation is quicker than the last.
• Documenting configurations, customisations and finance best practice in a way people will actually use.
• Improving our delivery methodology, with guidance from the APAC Director and colleagues who already know our methodology and standards well.
• Supporting the sales process through scoping, effort estimates and product demos. The APAC Director leads deals, and your input will feed directly into what we propose.
• Acting as the delivery point of contact for Sage in APAC, bringing delivery insight to QBRs and business planning sessions, and building pipeline through partner referrals and existing accounts.
• Raising the profile of the practice and generating leads through client case studies, blogs and events.
• Contributing to practice strategy and hiring plans as the team grows.
• Using our AI tools to automate work and improve the speed and quality of our Sage implementations for clients. What about Training & Onboarding?
• An onboarding programme covering VantagePoint's consulting methodology, delivery standards, project governance and ways of working.
• Dedicated time with the APAC Director and the wider APAC team to understand our clients, our commercial approach and how we work, including how we qualify opportunities, scope and price work, and put proposals together.
• Support to gain Sage Intacct certifications if you don't already hold them.
• A dedicated line manager (APAC Director) and buddy who will support you, answer questions and make sure you settle in quickly.
• An open, two-way feedback culture where lessons are shared quickly, wins are celebrated and development happens through regular coaching rather than annual reviews.
• Travel to Singapore for onboarding sessions, and to London to meet the wider Sage team and see how we work as a business. We'll expect you to work independently quickly, and you'll have support when you need it. What does success look like in 6-12 months?
• Delivering your first Sage Intacct implementations with us to a high standard, with clients happy to act as references.
• Becoming the person our clients and Sage go to with delivery questions in APAC.
• Getting our EMEA Sage assets adapted and in regular use on APAC projects.
• Contributing scoping, estimates and demos to new opportunities with increasing independence.
• Helping to produce Sage client case studies we can use with prospects and with Sage.
• Getting our existing consultants confident enough on Intacct to support delivery.
• Forming strong relationships across our clients, colleagues and Sage, and being someone people enjoy working with. Our best people grow quickly because they combine excellent customer relationships, operational excellence and commercial curiosity. We look for people who take ownership, enjoy solving problems and consistently raise the standard for both our customers and their colleagues. Who are we looking for? We hire people who take pride in their work and want to be part of something exceptional. This is a senior hire, so we're looking for someone who has done this before and can deliver Intacct projects without much supervision. You won't know our methodology or our clients on day one, and that's fine. We do expect the judgement to know when to ask for help and the determination to see things through. We don't expect perfection across every point below. We do expect drive, curiosity and the ability to execute. Essential
• A professional accounting qualification.
• At least two years' hands-on Sage Intacct implementation experience.
• Six or more end-to-end Sage implementations, ideally Intacct, including some built from scratch, from discovery through to go-live.

• Project leadership experience, including leading a small consulting team and quality-assuring their work.
• Experience delivering product demos as part of a sales cycle, alongside sales and partner teams.
• Experience scoping and estimating projects, including running scoping sessions that feed into proposals.
• Confident running workshops and dealing with senior stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong Excel modelling skills and the ability to put together PowerPoint content that explains complicated concepts to a non-technical audience.
