About RISER RISER is a Melbourne-based influencer marketing business that gets products into the hands of real people and turns that into content brands can use. Since launching in 2022, we've grown to 10,000+ micro-influencers and 500+ campaigns for 500+ brands, including Dove, Grill'd, Nando's, MCoBeauty and JSHealth Vitamins. We're the sister business of Theory Crew, an independent PR, influencer and social agency that has worked with lifestyle brands since 2012. Together we're a small group of businesses that share people, ideas and a habit of building new things. Our work is brands people love, creators with real audiences, and product landing in thousands of hands across Australia. Good ideas go live in days, not quarters, and we'd rather solve a problem once than by hand a hundred times. That's why we're building the RISER platform, and it's why we need you. Why now Influencer marketing is one of the fastest-growing corners of Australian advertising, with brands now spending about A$830m a year on it, on track to pass A$1bn. We're growing with it, and technology is how we plan to keep winning. We're building the RISER platform to run influencer campaigns end to end: briefing, creator selection, sending products to creators, collecting their content, and reporting. The first version is built: creators can sign up and connect their Instagram, brands can set up campaigns, and our team can run each campaign and track the content it produces. The next step is getting it ready for our team, brands and creators to use every day. The role You'll be our first in-house tech hire across RISER and Theory Crew, with two jobs: developing the RISER platform, and being our IT person. The platform is where most of your time will go. You'll be trusted to shape the platform, not just work through a to-do list. You'll get to know it deeply, see how it's really used, and improve it with our internal team and the brands and creators who use it. You'll use AI as a core part of how you work, to write and review code, automate the boring stuff, and get more done than a team twice the size. You'll have support from our team and partners, plus the training and tools you need. As we grow, so does the role: do well here and you could step up to lead our tech and build a team of your own.

What you'll do
Build and support the platform

• Learn how the RISER platform is built and runs, inside and out
• Ship new features and fixes, using AI coding tools to move fast and keep quality high
• Work alongside the team to see how they use the platform, help them get the most from it, and turn their pain points into improvements
• Keep it running: monitor, troubleshoot, and support users when something breaks Help launch it
• Help get the platform ready for outside users: fixing bugs, tightening security and making sign-up easy
• Help with demos, how-to guides and support as brands and creators start using it
• Share what you hear from users to help decide what we build next Work with outside suppliers
• Read quotes and proposals from the tech suppliers we work with, ask questions, and flag anything that doesn't make sense
• Check their work so we understand what we're paying for and what we're getting Run IT across the group
• Look after the software and services both businesses use, from setting up new tools to cancelling ones we don't need
• Keep accounts, devices and data secure, and set up easy rules for who can access what
• Set people up when they join, and help when someone's tech isn't working Make the business run smarter
• Automate manual, repetitive work with AI, and help the team get more out of AI in their own roles Who you are You've recently finished a degree in software development, computer science or similar, or you're otherwise early in your career. Self-taught with projects to show for it counts too. You won't have done all of this before, and that's fine. We don't expect you to have run IT, reviewed contracts or launched a product. We do expect you to work it out: you pick things up fast, you're not afraid to ask, and AI is the first tool you reach for when something's new. That part isn't optional. We're hiring for character more than

experience:
• You take ownership. You see a problem, work out what to do,

and do it, without waiting to be asked.
• You already build with AI. You use tools like Claude, Codex or Cursor to build things, and you're excited about how far that can go.
• You're curious about the business. You want to understand why the team needs something, not just what to build.
• You're a good communicator. You can learn to talk tech with a supplier, then translate it for someone who isn't technical.
• You're practical. You'd rather ship a simple thing that works this week than a perfect thing next quarter.
• What you'll work with: Python (Django), React and TypeScript, GitHub and GitHub Actions, DigitalOcean, SendGrid and RapidAPI. Experience with any of these, or with IT support, is a bonus, not a requirement. You'll pick up the rest on the job. Why you'll like it here
• Get in early. Join a fast-growing business at an early stage and be part of the team that builds what comes next. Real work, not busywork.
• Have a real say. Work directly with the founders and the people who use what you build, and help decide what we ship next.
• Real product, real users. What you build goes live for our internal team, brands and creators, and you'll see the impact straight away.
• Learn heaps. Product, engineering, IT and suppliers across several businesses, a breadth most developers don't get in one role.
• The latest tools. The best AI tools, paid for, and the freedom to experiment with them.
• A fun team. Our office in South Yarra, team events and offsites, brand launches and creator events, and people who genuinely enjoy working together. Role details
•

Location:
South Yarra, Melbourne. Office-based, with potential for hybrid once you know the platform and the team
• Full-time, permanent
• Reports to Business Director
• Full working rights in Australia required

How to apply
Send us a few lines on what drew you to this role, plus a link to something you've built (a GitHub repo, a side project, a uni assignment you're proud of) and a short explanation of what it does and how you made it. Bonus points if you tell us how you used AI to build it and what you learned from doing it. Apply to James Rock, Business Director, at [email protected] by 4 November 2026.
