Position No: 2027-0903-LB1-M1-0-52 Applications Close: 27/10/2026 11:30 PM Position Descriptor We are seeking an outstanding educational leader with a demonstrated capacity to lead teaching and learning across the Arts, encompassing Drama, Visual Art, Design, Dance and Music. The Arts are an important and highly visible part of the curriculum and culture of Mitcham Girls High School, providing students with opportunities to develop creativity, confidence, agency and self-expression through rich learning, performance, exhibition and community experiences. The portfolio also includes leadership of the school's Special Entry Dance Program, with entry commencing in Year 7, providing students with a specialist pathway to develop their capabilities and pursue excellence in Dance throughout their secondary education. The successful applicant will provide strategic curriculum leadership across the Arts, build teacher capability and work collaboratively with staff to strengthen high-quality teaching, learning, assessment and enrichment opportunities from Years 7-12. The Successful Applicant Will Demonstrate
• high-level knowledge of the South Australian Curriculum, SACE Thrive agenda and contemporary curriculum and learning design across Drama, Visual Art, Design, Dance, GiFT Dance program and Music
• expertise in contemporary,



evidence-informed pedagogical approaches that develop students' disciplinary knowledge, capabilities, dispositions and agency for lifelong learning
• the ability to lead curriculum and pedagogical improvement through coaching, mentoring and professional learning that builds the capability of individuals and teams
• strong skills in using evidence to evaluate impact, inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement
• the capacity to strengthen the profile of the Arts through authentic learning, performance, exhibition, partnerships and enrichment opportunities, and
• a commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative and high-expectations culture that enables every student to experience success.
