Complete Video Success System
Marrickville
Good with your hands? Like getting the small stuff right? Ridge Films builds Desktop Studios: complete, plug-and-play video studios that sit on a business owner's desk. Camera, lights, teleprompter, mic, all set up so they flick a switch and record. We've been in video since 2002, and we won Product Innovation at the 2025 Australian Business Awards. Every studio has over a thousand small details. We're looking for someone to build them with us, on the bench at our Marrickville studio. Why work with us
- You build something real. Every kit you put together ends up on a real business owner's desk, and they use it to show up on camera for their business.
- You learn from the person who designed it. Ridge is a small team. You'll be trained by our founder, Chris, not handed a manual and left to it.
- It goes somewhere. Start on the bench. Learn the upgrades, then go out on installs, then step up to senior technician. More skills, more hours.
- Hours that fit your life. Casual shifts that work around study or other jobs.
What you'll do
- Build studio kits step by step, following our detailed video build guide
- Assemble and set up cameras, lights, teleprompters, mics and cabling
- Test everything works before it leaves
- Label, tidy and pack each kit for delivery
- Keep the workspace and stock organised We train you on all of it. You don't need to know the gear going in. Who we're after
- You're good with your hands. Maybe you've built a PC, wired up a home theatre, worked stage or AV crew, done a trade, or you're the one who fixes everyone's tech.
- You follow a process properly, step by step,
and you notice when something isn't quite right.
- You think things through and use your initiative, and you ask a question rather than guess.
- You're reliable. When you say you'll be there, you're there.
- You're comfortable with physical work. Some parts are heavy, and some bolts and fittings need a firm hand to tighten properly. You'll need to do this on your own.
- You can get to Marrickville easily. Please think about the commute before you apply. It matters to us, and it'll matter to you. Nice to have, not essential: AV, electronics or audio experience, or a driver's licence. The hours Casual, flexible shifts at our Marrickville studio, so it can fit around study or other work. It starts small and grows as we get busier. There's a transparent training path for anyone who wants more: the more you learn, the more there is to do. Pay: $35.00 per hour, including casual loading, plus super.
How to apply
(please read this bit) Send us a one-minute video of yourself. Filmed on your phone is perfect, we just want to meet you. Tell us: 1. Who you are and which suburb you're in. 2.
