We’re looking for a hands-on Camp Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day hospitality operation of an approx. 100-person remote camp in WA.
This isn’t a large village management role buried in systems, bookings and administration.
It’s a smaller, hands-on operation where you’ll know your team, know your residents and have real influence over the standard of food, housekeeping and service delivered on site.
You’ll lead a team of around four staff across catering, housekeeping and general camp operations, while working closely with our Operations Manager to ensure the site runs smoothly.
A chef background is essential, as this role will suit someone who is comfortable stepping into the kitchen and supporting the team when required.
The Role
You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day hospitality operation of the camp, including:
- Leading, supporting and managing the in office team
- Maintaining high standards across food, housekeeping and general camp presentation
- Client liaison and day-to-day communication
- Rostering and team coordination
- Ordering, stock control and inventory management
- Menu planning and maintaining agreed food standards
- Managing food costs, wastage and stock levels
- Food safety, compliance and site standards
- Basic camp administration and room movements where required
- Supporting the kitchen and wider team when needed
This is a role for someone who enjoys being involved in the operation rather than managing from behind a desk.
About You
We’re ideally looking for someone who has worked in smaller remote or mobile camp environments and understands that these sites operate differently from large-scale villages.
You may currently be working as a:
- Chef Manager ready to take the next step
- Camp Manager (small site)
- Assistant Village Manager
You’ll Need
- Recent camp management or supervisory experience
- Strong experience working in smaller remote camps, ideally up to around 100 residents
- A solid chef background and confidence working in a kitchen when required
- A current manual driver’s licence
- Full Australian Working Rights
- A reliable, adaptable and safety-conscious approach
- The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the operation
Experience mobilising or opening new camps will be highly regarded, as will previous mobile camp experience.
An Approved Manager licence would also be advantageous, although it is not essential.
What’s On Offer
- $56.50 per hour + super
- Consistent ongoing 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off FIFO roster with potential to adjust
- Flights from Perth provided
- Accommodation and meals supplied while on site
- Your own room and bathroom
- Wi-Fi available on site
- Long-term casual work with the opportunity to move into a permanent position
- A smaller operation where you can genuinely influence the standard and culture of the site
Successful applicants must be willing to complete site-specific onboarding and compliance requirements, which may include a pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screening and police check.
