Fasta Pasta Murray Bridge is seeking a qualified and experienced Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional to contribute to a fast-paced and customer-focused environment.
Key responsibilities
- Season food during cooking and taste dishes to maintain consistent flavour and quality.
- Prepare ingredients by cleaning, cutting, portioning, marinating, seasoning and undertaking other food preparation activities.
- Assist with menu preparation and new food offerings where required.
- Examine meat, chicken, vegetables, seafood and other ingredients on delivery and before use to ensure freshness, quality and suitability for cooking.
- Operate and regulate the temperature of ovens grills, burners and other commercial cooking equipment.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
- Store food in temperature-controlled facilities, and label, date and rotate stock in accordance with food safety requirements.
- Clean and maintain cooking equipment, utensils and food preparation areas, and follow food safety,
hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
- Assist with estimating food requirements and monitoring stock levels to support efficient kitchen operations and minimise wastage.
- Check and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points.
About you
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in Hospitality industry.
- Completed Cert III or 3-years' experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to maintain high standards of food.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene.
- Sound understanding of stock control and cost management principles.
- Must have prior experience with pan cooking.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.
- Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months.
- Must have full working rights in Australia.
