With two opportunities available, one based in Toowoomba and one based in Springfield with regular travel to Ipswich, these are varied, hands-on roles combining practical and administrative responsibilities across cleaning and waste services, stores and distribution, fleet operations and facilities support.

You’ll provide visible and responsive support to staff, students, contractors and service providers while helping ensure operational services are safe, responsive, well-coordinated and delivered to an appropriate standard.

Who you are

You can confidently balance multiple tasks, prioritise your workload and follow through to achieve results. You also understand the importance of delivering a positive client experience and can communicate professionally with a range of internal and external clients.

What you'll do

As an Operations Assistant, you’ll combine practical, on-the-ground activities with administrative support to help keep a range of Facilities Management services running smoothly.

In particular, you will:

- provide operational and administrative support, including processing service requests, maintaining records, preparing routine correspondence and updating Facilities Management systems;
- liaise with University clients,

contractors and service providers to support the timely resolution of routine enquiries and service issues;
- undertake inspections and audits of cleaning, hygiene and waste services, recording findings and referring service issues for rectification;
- support stores, distribution, inventory and warehousing activities, including receiving and distributing items, stock handling, stocktakes and operating a forklift;
- undertake routine fleet vehicle inspections and checks and support the coordination of vehicle servicing and repairs; and
- support pool vehicle bookings and key management arrangements and respond to routine user enquiries.

What will help you succeed

You’ll bring practical experience in warehousing, logistics, inventory management or dispatch systems, along with strong client service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients. You will also have:

- a current motor vehicle licence (Class C or CA) and a current high-risk work licence (forklift).
- experience using computer hardware and software such as Microsoft Office, with a high degree of accuracy;
- the ability to prioritise work, follow through on tasks and achieve results; and
- the flexibility and initiative to respond positively to change and contribute to continuous improvement.
