Information Protection Specialist (Microsoft Purview) 12-month contract | Remote | Sydney or Perth preferred

About the role
Our client is a health insurance company, and is looking for an Information Protection Specialist to build, embed and mature their enterprise information classification and protection capability. You’ll start with unstructured data using Microsoft Purview. You’ll be the go-to expert. You’ll lead the foundation build, configuration and integration of classification and protection controls, then turn them into sustainable processes that teams can run day to day. Your work will help protect members’ sensitive health and personal information, support regulatory compliance and reduce risk across the business. What you’ll do
• Design reusable classification rules, sensitivity labels, auto-labelling policies and exception handling
• Build dashboards and reporting that show classification coverage, protection effectiveness and risk trends
• Help enable automated control testing for information protection controls
• Train internal administrators and support teams to reduce reliance on any single expert
• Keep improving classification accuracy, automation and usability
• Make sure controls meet regulatory, privacy and security obligations, and support internal and external audits




• Act as the trusted authority on information protection across Technology, Risk and the business What you’ll bring
• Proven experience designing and implementing information classification and protection frameworks in complex enterprise environments
• Solid hands-on Microsoft Purview expertise: sensitivity labels, auto-classification, DLP, governance and unstructured data protection
• Working knowledge of data governance, privacy, security and risk management in regulated environments
• Experience moving solutions from project delivery into business-as-usual operations
• Ability to influence without authority and explain technical concepts in business terms
