Principal Control Systems Engineer Own your decisions. See your impact. At ConsultJR, we’re looking for a Principal Control Systems Engineer to lead the further development of our established controls capability and strengthen its connection with HV and LV electrical engineering. Our clients need these disciplines working together. You’ll take responsibility for making that connection stronger. Lead the detail. Shape the direction. One moment, you’ll be hands-on, guiding an engineer through a design challenge. The next, you’ll be advising a client or deciding how we develop our capability and add more value. You might even get our MD out of the office more often. You’ll work across water and wastewater, energy, resources and industrial infrastructure, supporting contractors with detailed design and asset owners as an owner’s engineer. Your judgement. Your decisions. Our support.
You’ll own your technical decisions and follow them through. You’ll set standards, develop engineers and build client relationships. We work smart,

work together and keep learning. We ask questions, share knowledge and take responsibility. The best answer can come from anyone in the room. Bring your depth in controls, automation, PLC and SCADA systems. Bring your ambition, ideas and willingness to help others succeed. And in return for your time, energy and a little engineering genius? Genuine work–life balance. Substantial projects. Colleagues you’ll enjoy working with. The backing to put your ideas into practice. A salary that recognises your contribution, with scope for longer-term bonuses or profit share as we grow together. Because job satisfaction should also make an appearance in your bank account. Ready to connect?
