About Sabel Sabel is an Fin partner. We help growing companies move onto Fin, deploy Fin AI Agent, and connect it to the systems that run their business. Our clients range from fintech and ecommerce to property tech and professional services, across Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Europe and the US. We build workspaces differently from most partners. Our proprietary platform, Forge, drives Fin configuration and Fin AI setup through code and automation rather than by hand in the admin UI. That lets us deliver faster and more consistently, and it means the person in this role needs to think like an engineer, not a platform administrator. We are a small senior team. You will work directly with the founder and our delivery lead, and you will own the technical stream of client engagements rather than assist on it. The role We are looking for an experienced engineer to own the technical side of our Fin implementations, two to three days a week. You will use Forge to build and configure client workspaces, design and build Fin AI procedures and workflows, connect Fin to client systems through data connectors, and be the technical voice on calls with client engineering teams. This role needs a high level of expertise in APIs, integrations and how systems fit together. Every engagement involves an Fin workspace, Fin, and two or more client systems (CRM, order management, billing, identity, internal tools) that all have to agree on who the customer is and what has happened to them. You will be the person who understands the whole picture, designs how the pieces connect, and makes the connections work. You will not be managed day to day. You will be given a scope, a client and a go-live date, and trusted to get there. What you will do
- Build and configure Fin workspaces using Forge:
inboxes, teams, brands, help centres, ticket types, conversation attributes, routing and SLAs, driven from playbooks and code rather than clicks
- Design and build Fin AI Agent procedures, guidance and workflows that resolve customer queries end to end, and test them against real conversation data
- Build and maintain Fin data connectors against client REST APIs: authentication, request and response mapping, error handling, rate limits, testing
- Map how a client's systems fit together (CRM, ecommerce, billing, identity, internal tools) and design the integration pattern that lets Fin and Fin act on that data
- Scope and run technical working sessions with client engineers and product managers, and turn what was agreed into build tasks
- Support ticket and help centre migrations from Zendesk, Freshdesk, Help Scout, Gorgias and similar into Fin: field mapping, sample loads, go-live checks, post-migration fixes
- Own technical escalations from the delivery team: API errors, webhook issues, duplicate contacts, data quality problems at scale
- Contribute to Forge itself (Python CLI and automation) and raise the bar on how we deliver What we are looking for
- Based in Australia. This is a firm requirement
- Three or more years in a hands-on technical role: solutions engineering, integrations, implementation consulting,
or software development with client contact
- Deep working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, OAuth and webhooks. You have designed and debugged integrations between multiple systems, not just configured a connector
- A clear mental model of how systems come together: data ownership, identity matching, sync direction, failure modes, and what breaks when two systems disagree
- Confident in Python or JavaScript. You can script against an API, process a large export, and fix a failing integration without hand-holding
- Hands-on experience administering or integrating a helpdesk or CRM platform (Fin, Zendesk, Freshdesk, HubSpot, Salesforce Service Cloud or similar)
- Clear written and spoken communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will run calls and write client-facing documentation
- Able to own outcomes with light supervision and flag risks early Nice to have
- Fin workspace or Fin AI Agent experience
- Exposure to LLM-based tools, prompt design or AI agent configuration
- SQL, Git, basic cloud deployment (Fly, Vercel, AWS or similar)
- Previous agency, consultancy or partner-ecosystem work
What we offer
- Senior work, part time hours. Two to three days a week, arranged around you
- Tooling built for engineers. Forge means you spend your time on integration design and Fin logic, not repetitive admin
- Direct access to Fin partner programme, product team and early feature access
- Variety: Fin AI, integrations, data migration and client delivery in one role
- Contract or employee, your choice. Some evening calls with UK and US clients, balanced by flexibility elsewhere
- A small team where your work is visible and your ideas get built
