About the Role
MSS Security is seeking qualified, reliable and customer-focused Terminal Security Officers to join our team at Hobart International Airport. This role provides a visible security presence throughout the airport terminal and surrounding precinct. Duties include but are not limited to:
• Conduct security patrols of the terminal, forecourt, aprons, airport roads and car parks.
• Monitor and report security, safety and operational concerns and respond promptly and professionally to security incidents.
• Apply effective verbal deescalation and conflict resolution techniques when responding to challenging or escalating behaviours.
• Engage respectfully with passengers experiencing distress and provide first aid when required.
• Maintain accurate security logs, patrol records and incident reports. Ideal candidates will have:
• Confidence applying deescalation techniques and managing challenging behaviour without unnecessarily escalating a situation.
• Patience,



empathy and the ability to communicate respectfully with vulnerable or distressed people.
• Previous experience in security, aviation, transport, mental health support or another public-facing operational environment will be highly regarded.

Requirements:
• Full Australian working rights.
• A current Tasmanian Security Agent Licence.
• A current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
• Ability to undergo a medical assessment, including drug and alcohol testing.​ Master Licence Number: 5784
