PLANT OPERATOR (ALL-ROUNDER)

The Shire of Mt Marshall is seeking a motivated Plant Operator to join our Engineering Services team. As part of our Works crew, you’ll help maintain and improve our local road network and support a range of construction and maintenance activities. This role involves operating graders, loaders, rollers, HR vehicles, and other earthmoving equipment, as well as general laboring tasks when required.

What You’ll Be Doing

•Operating plant and equipment safely to complete road construction and maintenance tasks

•Carrying out daily machine checks and basic maintenance

•Supporting drainage, waste management, and other Shire works as needed

•Responding to call-outs when required

•Working as part of a small, supportive team committed to quality outcomes and community service

What You’ll Bring

•A strong commitment to safe work practices

•Experience operating plant such as loaders, rollers, HR trucks, and other earthmoving machinery

•Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions

•Sound understanding of plant maintenance and servicing

•HR class driver’s licence and White Card (essential)

Highly Regarded

•Experience with side tippers and loaders





•Traffic management tickets

•First Aid

•Chainsaw or similar operational tickets

•Experience in municipal works or bushfire response

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, and you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to visible, meaningful outcomes across our Shire.

The role includes the following benefits:

•Level 3, Local Government Industry Award 2020 - $55,419.00

•Mt Marshall Bonus of 25% on base hourly rate

•Rent capped at $92 per week
