What's the opportunity?

As an Apprentice Diesel Fitter, you'll undertake a structured apprenticeship program while learning your trade in a modern underground and surface mining environment.

Working alongside experienced Diesel Fitters and maintenance professionals, you'll gain hands-on experience maintaining, servicing and repairing heavy mining equipment while completing your trade qualification through TAFE.

Throughout your apprenticeship you will learn to:

- Service, maintain and repair heavy mining equipment and mobile plant
- Assist with breakdown repairs and fault finding activities
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Complete component change-outs and equipment inspections
- Develop mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Work across a diverse fleet of underground and surface equipment




- Gain exposure to heavy vehicles and ancillary plant
- Complete maintenance documentation and inspection records
- Work safely within a large-scale mining operation
- Maintain high housekeeping, safety and quality standards
- Demonstrate behaviours aligned with Evolution Mining's values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability and Respect

This is an entry-level opportunity designed for people who enjoy working with their hands, have a keen interest in mechanics and are looking to build a long-term career in the mining industry.

Mungari is a cornerstone asset in our portfolio, with a mine life to at least 2038. It's operationally diverse, with opportunities to work on the surface or underground and a great team of people who care. Our recent expansion of the processing plant has more than doubled processing capacity from 2 million to 4.2 million tonnes per year. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers.

This position is based on a 7 day on, 7 day off dayshift only roster, and is residential to Kalgoorlie.

We're looking for people who demonstrate:

- A genuine interest in mechanical maintenance and the Diesel Fitter trade
- Robust mechanical aptitude and practical skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Reliability and commitment to completing a four-year apprenticeship
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Good problem-solving ability
- High attention to detail
- A strong commitment to safety
- The ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Current C Class Australian manual Driver's Licence

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

- Completion of Year 10
- Pre-apprenticeship, Certificate II or trade-related studies
- Exposure to automotive, mechanical or electrical activities
- Previous experience working with tools, vehicles or equipment
