General Manager of In Person Delivery
The Youth Impact Foundation | East Melbourne with work from home options
Full time | $90,000 to $120,000 plus super
Lead the delivery behind 200,000+ young people every year
The Youth Impact Foundation (TYIF) runs evidence-based, preventative wellbeing programs for young people across Australia, reaching more than 200,000 young people every year. Our goal is to reach one million young people by 2030, and we’re on track to get there.
We’re looking for a General Manager of In Person Delivery to lead how we get there, refining the systems and planning that let our programs grow.
You’ll lead the planning and delivery of every in person program TYIF runs in Australia: in school programs, workshops, keynotes, conferences and camps. Your five direct reports cover camps, venues and our NSW and VIC facilitator teams. Some run delivery themselves, and others lead the teams that do. You’ll work closely with the Chief of Staff to set the direction for delivery, then make it happen.
This is not a role for someone who needs to be at every event. It’s for a leader who builds the systems, team and culture that let outstanding delivery happen without them in the room.
About Us
The Youth Impact Foundation delivers evidence-based, preventative mental health and wellbeing programs for young people through camps, school programs and digital formats. We work with schools, communities and families, and subsidise access for young people experiencing disadvantage.
Reducing duplication. Amplifying impact.
We grow our impact by bringing youth mental health charities together. Consolidating means less duplication, lower costs and more young people accessing high quality, life changing programs.
Current brands include:
- Youth Leadership Academy
- Attitude
- Burn Bright
- National Leadership Camp
- Reach
- Youth Engagement Project
- The Flourish Journey
- Ignite Leadership Camp
Our Values
Every program we run, every camp we deliver and every decision we make comes back to these seven values. It starts with our leadership team, who model them every day. For this role, living our values isn’t a nice to have, it's crucial.
- Heart Centred
- Better Never Stops
- Be Daring
- Serve Outside the Spotlight
- Embrace Your Story
- Celebrate Quirk, Bring Joy
- Put Your Relationships First
As a leader of our largest team, you’ll be one of the people who carries these values into every program, camp and team meeting. Skills and experience matter, but we’re looking just as closely for someone who already lives these values in how they lead.
What You’ll Do
Leadership & Culture
- Lead, coach and grow a team of five across Sydney and Melbourne
- Drive TYIF’s culture and values across the delivery function
- Create an environment where every team member feels safe at work, physically and psychologically
- Work with the Chief of Staff to set the strategy for delivery, then lead its implementation
Child Safety
- Lead a culture of safeguarding across every program, camp and event
- Ensure all staff, facilitators and volunteers hold current Working With Children Checks, police checks and mandatory training
- Make sure every concern is raised and handled in line with our reporting procedures
Program Delivery
- Own the quality and consistency of delivery across all our brands, while each brand keeps its own feel
- Keep a finger on the pulse through selected program visits, feedback, reporting and live dashboards
- Lead the planning and delivery of camps and conferences, including venues, logistics and volunteers
Facilitator Workforce
- Make sure facilitator capacity meets program demand across all brands
- Work with our Head of Training and Development so facilitators are trained for the programs they deliver
- Keep booking cadences achievable, working alongside our relationships and sales teams
Systems & Budget
- Build streamlined back of house systems that are replicable and sustainable as new organisations join TYIF
- Manage delivery budgets, including travel, venue and event costs
- Report on delivery performance and risks to the Chief of Staff
About You
You’re a people leader who sees the bigger picture and plans ahead, without losing sight of the detail.
You’ve led teams through change, you build systems that outlast you, and you care deeply about young people and the people who serve them. You don’t shy away from hard conversations, and you handle them with care and compassion.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Proven people leadership, ideally leading teams across more than one site or region
- Strategic thinking, with a record of turning direction into results
- Experience leading delivery in schools, camps, outdoor education or events, or running large scale operations through strong systems
- A working knowledge of child safety obligations and the Child Safe Standards
- A record of building positive, safe, high performing team cultures
- Experience in the not for profit or youth sector, or with mergers and integrations (a bonus)
You don’t need to meet every requirement. If you think this is the right role for you, we’d still love to hear from you.
Employee Benefits
- Flexible hybrid work (work from home + our office at Gate 8, MCG)
- 5 days Volunteer Leave annually
- Annual team retreat and connection events
- Generous NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free)
- Be part of a growing, values aligned team with impact at its core
Additional Information
We are a child safe organisation committed to the safety and wellbeing of young people. All offers of employment are subject to:
- A valid Working With Children Check
- A National Police Check
- No criminal record preventing work with children
- Full working rights in Australia
- A full driver’s licence
This role requires interstate travel, including overnight camp stays.
