Workforce Extensions Ballarat
Horsham
Are you a hands on mechanic looking for more variety, flexibility and a better work-ife balance?
Workforce Extensions is partnering with Wimmera Mallee Waste to find a capable and reliable person to help maintain their fleet in Horsham.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across different vehicles and equipment, solving mechanical problems and taking ownership of their work, without the usual pressures of a busy commercial workshop.
With flexible working hours, a company vehicle and a varied workload, this could be a refreshing change for someone who knows their way around a workshop and enjoys getting the job done.
What's on offer
- Competitive salary and a company vehicle
- Genuine flexibility around start and finish times
- Monday to Friday, with no weekend work
- A varied role working across trucks, cars, telehandlers and other equipment
- The opportunity to work independently and manage your own workload
- A modern workshop and supportive team
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
About the role
Based at the Horsham depot, you'll help keep a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment safe, reliable and ready for work.
Working alongside the Maintenance Supervisor, you'll carry out servicing, repairs, inspections and fault finding across a range of machinery and vehicles.
Your day could involve routine maintenance, diagnosing a mechanical issue, repairing equipment or helping plan upcoming maintenance.
There's plenty of variety and a good degree of autonomy. This isn't a traditional workshop where every job is tightly scheduled and every minute needs to be accounted for. You'll have the flexibility to organise your work, use your initiative and focus on keeping the fleet running.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out servicing,
maintenance and repairs across a range of vehicles and equipment
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Complete inspections and preventative maintenance
- Keep service records up to date and identify maintenance requirements
- Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to plan and prioritise repairs
- Maintain a safe and organised workshop
About you
You don't necessarily need formal mechanical qualifications. We're looking for someone with practical mechanical ability, a reliable approach and the confidence to work independently when required.
You'll ideally have:
- Hands-on experience with mechanical repairs, servicing or maintenance
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to diagnosing and fixing problems
- The ability to work independently, use your initiative and ask for support when needed
- A reliable attitude and pride in the quality of your work
- A current driver's licence, with an HC licence highly regarded
Experience with trucks, diesel engines, agricultural equipment, plant, hydraulics or light vehicles would be valuable. If you're mechanically minded, capable and keen to take on a varied role, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
