Maintenance/Handyman (20-25 hours per week)

The Handyman / Maintenance Person is responsible for ensuring the hotel, guest rooms, common areas, facilities and surrounding grounds are maintained in a safe, clean, functional and presentable condition. The role requires a proactive, reliable and practical approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues before they impact guests or hotel operations.

Key responsibilities
Carry out routine repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel, guest rooms and common areas Repair or replace minor fixtures, fittings, doors, locks, handles, furniture and other items Undertake basic painting, patching, carpentry and general handyman work Attend to maintenance requests promptly and keep management informed of outstanding issues Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems Inspect rooms following maintenance requests and complete repairs efficiently Respond promptly to issues involving lighting, taps, toilets, air conditioning, appliances, doors and other fixtures Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and identify and report hazards,



defects and potential risks Complete regular checks of rooms, corridors, car parks, plant areas and other hotel facilities Maintain the presentation and functionality of outdoor areas, pathways, car parks and building surrounds About you Reliability: Arrive on time, be dependable and complete agreed tasks Proactive approach: Identify and address issues early rather than waiting for problems to be reported Quality: Complete repairs properly and to a professional standard Guest focus: Be polite, respectful and skilled when working around guests Communication: Keep management informed about completed work, outstanding jobs, parts required and issues requiring external contractors Safety: Never compromise guest, staff or personal safety to complete a task quickly Teamwork: Work cooperatively with management, housekeeping, reception and external contractors Confidentiality: Respect guest privacy and hotel confidentiality
