Victorian Funds Management Corporation (VFMC) is a public authority responsible for investing for the benefit of Victorians on behalf of the State of Victoria. VFMC manages funds of over $104 billion for more than 30 Victorian public authorities and related organisations.

Position Overview Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investment Operations, this role sits within the Investment Operations and Performance team and is responsible for managing the relationship with Eagle Managed Services (EMS), provided by BNY, and data operations support for VFMC’s data and analytics program.

The team comprises four main functions that support all investment-related activities, including Portfolio Operations, Investment Operations Delivery, Investment Data Operations, and Performance Reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Daily oversight of Eagle Managed Services (EMS) delivery

Data quality control and stewardship of all investment data into VFMC's investment and data platforms (SimCorp Dimension, Eagle, Data Vault, Risk Manager)

Performance and oversight of data quality control and stewardship activities for all investment data in VFMC's systems

Data issue identification, triaging, tracking and resolution

Trend analysis of data issues and implementation of data quality measures





Ensure data availability in the relevant systems and hold vendors to account for data delivery

Support Data & Advanced Analytics projects and other VFMC strategic initiatives

Data ownership of multiple data domains across the business (positions, security master, benchmarks, etc)

Knowledge and Experience

5+ years' experience in funds management, superannuation, custody, or similar, including operational experience with investment platforms such as SimCorp Dimension, Charles River, ThinkFolio, Aladdin, or Calypso

Knowledge of securities pricing, valuation and market data (equities, fixed interest securities, unlisted assets, exchange traded derivatives and OTC derivatives).

A tertiary qualification in commerce, economics, accounting, or equivalent

Well-developed problem-solving, critical thinking, and lateral thinking skills

Experience with third-party data and pricing vendors such as IDC, Bloomberg, FactSet, S&P;, Markit, or SimCorp (ideal)

Solid stakeholder management skills with both internal stakeholders and external service providers

Familiarity with Microsoft Office; Power BI experience is advantageous

Effective risk management capability, including formalising and embedding processes and controls, and recommending improvements to timeliness, accuracy, and independence
