Kilner’s Engineering is looking for Trades Assistants to join our busy manufacturing team in our state-of-the-art Morningside workshop.
This is a practical workshop role covering component preparation for fabrication, machinery loading, assembly, materials handling, packing and dispatch. You’ll support our tradespeople while developing your skills in a busy engineering and manufacturing environment.
Trades Assistant Key Responsibilities
Assist tradespeople with fabrication, manufacturing and workshop activities
Operate workshop equipment, load and unload machinery under supervision
Prepare parts for fabrication, assembly, powdercoating and the next stage of production
Assemble components and finished products
Pack and prepare components and finished products for dispatch
Receive and organise materials and inventory
Carry out basic machinery and equipment maintenance
Follow Quality Management System and Workplace Health & Safety procedures
About You
Experience in fabrication, manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong mechanical aptitude and practical skills
Able to read technical drawings, dimensions and tolerances
Good attention to detail and organisational skills
Reliable and comfortable working independently or within a team
Forklift licence advantageous but not essential
