Responsibilities
Support the CFO with budgeting, financial reporting and strategic financial management.
Prepare annual budgets, financial statements, quarterly reviews and long-term financial plans.
Oversee investments, loans, general ledger maintenance and grant acquittals.
Manage Council's asset register, taxation obligations (GST & FBT) and financial reconciliations.
Lead business improvement initiatives to enhance financial systems and processes.
Oversee Accounts Payable, payroll reviews and bank reconciliations.
Supervise and mentor a small finance team.

Essential
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting.




Robust understanding of Australian Accounting Standards.
Experience preparing budgets, financial statements and financial reports.
Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.
Highly developed analytical, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Previous Local Government finance experience highly regarded.
