Work type:
Full time
Salary:

About the chance
The Consortio Group is partnering with a leading construction and marine engineering group based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. They're looking for a Senior IT Systems Administrator to look after their infrastructure and end user environment across a busy, multi-site operation. This is a FIFO role out of Brisbane on a 6/2 roster (6 weeks onsite in Port Moresby, 2 weeks home in Australia). You'll report to the Group IT Manager and work closely with the IT Security Manager in a small, hands‐on team where you'll have genuine ownership.
Living and working in PNG
While onsite, you'll live and work within the company's secure compound, with accommodation and meals provided. Port Moresby is a unique place to work. Security is taken seriously, movement outside the compound is restricted, and infrastructure and resources don't always run the way they do in Australia. You'll be working with a diverse local and expat team, so cultural awareness, patience and respect are essential. This role suits someone who's adaptable, resilient and genuinely up for the adventure of working somewhere very different to home.
What you'll be doing
Managing and maintaining server, network and cloud infrastructure
Administering Microsoft 365,
Entra ID and endpoint management
Supporting and maintaining LAN, WAN, wireless and site connectivity
Providing senior level support to users across office, yard and site locations
Working with the IT Security Manager on patching, backups and security controls
Managing vendors, licensing and IT assets
Documenting systems and improving processes
What you'll bring
7+ years in systems administration or infrastructure roles
Strong Windows Server, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID experience
Solid networking knowledge (Cisco or similar)
Experience with virtualisation, backup and recovery
A practical, self-sufficient approach suited to a remote environment
Comfortable living onsite in a secure compound for 6 week stretches
Cultural awareness and the ability to build strong relationships with local teams
A sense of adventure and the resilience to thrive in a challenging environment
Previous FIFO, remote or developing country experience highly regarded
Australian citizenship or permanent residency, based in or willing to fly out of Brisbane
Ability to obtain a PNG work permit (sponsored by the employer)
What's on offer
$140,000 package, inclusive of super
FIFO flights from Brisbane, accommodation and meals provided while onsite
Long term role with an established, well-regarded operator
Real autonomy and variety in a hands‐on senior role
