Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a local government client to support them in recruiting for a Financial Analyst on a 6-month contract based in Logan Central.
About the role
Pay rate of $***** per hour + super
6-month contract through to late April ****, full time, Monday to Friday
Sit within the corporate accounting team, supporting the finance business partners
Prepare and analyse budgets, forecasts and management reports for senior leadership and elected members
Investigate budget variances and provide accurate, timely financial advice
Support short and long term financial modelling
Maintain financial reporting systems and processes with a focus on data integrity, internal controls and compliance
Train internal stakeholders in using financial reports and systems
Preferred Requirements
Experience as a financial analyst, management accountant or similar in a medium to large organisation
Hands-on involvement in budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
Robust financial modelling and Excel skills
Ability to explain complex financial information in plain language
Local government or public sector finance experience highly regarded
Available to start Monday 26 October
Preferred Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or business
CPA or CA membership or eligibility (desirable)
