Plant Operator / Maintenance Fitter (Team Leader)
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated individual for a split role as a Plant Operator & Maintenance Fitter.
This is a highly practical, hands-on position.
The primary requirements for this role are a willingness to work in a hands on position, mechanical/maintenance experience and an ability to lead by example.
Main Responsibilities
Plant Operations:Safely operate plant equipment, including forklift work and raw material handling.
Team Leadership:Lead, mentor, and coordinate a small daily crew of operators to ensure production targets are safely met.
Maintenance & Reliability:Handle preventative maintenance, emergency breakdowns, and general process improvements to promote machinery reliability and facility efficiency.
Downtime Prevention:Support the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility by ensuring all equipment is well-maintained to avoid unnecessary downtime.
Safety & Compliance:Take ownership of floor safety.
Implement factory safety procedures and comply with Occupational Health & Safety (WHS/OH&S;) standards in accordance with our site manual.
Requirements
Previous experience in a fitter, maintenance, or mechanical role is required.
Previous experience as a Leading Hand or Team Leader (or a strong desire to step up into a floor leadership role) is highly regarded.
Welding capability is essential.
Current Forklift Licence is essential.
