Kyalite Pistachios isAustralia's largest producing pistachio orchard. It is a progressive, privately owned operation, located in the southern Riverina region of New South Wales consisting of 450Ha. We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable
General Farm Hand
to join our growing team.
This is an excellent prospect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, problem solving, operating machinery, and being involved in all aspects of a modern horticultural enterprise. The successful applicant will work across orchard operations throughout the year, from pre season maintenance through to harvest and post-harvest activities.
No two days are the same, and we are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a positive attitude, and is willing to learn about pistachio production.
About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will assist with all aspects of orchard and farm operations, including but not limited to:
Machinery Operation
Operating tractors and various orchard implements
Slashing, spraying, mulching and weed management
Assisting with harvest equipment operation
Performing daily pre-start checks and routine servicing
Maintaining machinery cleanliness and presentation
Orchard Operations
Orchard floor and vegetation management
Assisting with fertiliser application programs
Pest and disease monitoring activities
General tree health assessments
Supporting crop production programs throughout the season
Supervision of seasonal staff
Bird management
Maintenance & Repairs
Work closely with the workshop manager
General farm maintenance
Harvest machinery pre season and in season maintenance
Workshop duties and basic fabrication
Servicing and repairs
Maintaining sheds, roads and farm facilities




Harvest is one of the most important times of the year and all team members play a critical role. Duties may include:
Harvest machinery operation
Bin and stock movement
Quality monitoring
Equipment maintenance
Loading and unloading trucks
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
· Current Australian Driver's Licence
· Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
· Ability to work safely and follow instructions
· Good communication and teamwork skills
· Reliable, punctual and self motivated attitude
· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
· Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Previous farming or horticultural experience
Tractor and machinery operating experience
Chemical Accreditation (ChemCert or equivalent)
Mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills
Welding and fabrication experience
