About the Company
What if you could enjoy a rewarding dental career while having more time to enjoy everything Brisbane has to offer?
Our client is an established dental practice in Brisbane's vibrant inner-city region, offering a fantastic opportunity for a Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist who values flexibility, professional satisfaction and a healthy work-life balance.
With a strong focus on preventive dentistry, periodontal health and patient education, the practice provides a welcoming environment where quality care and genuine patient relationships come first.
You'll work alongside an experienced Dentist and fellow Hygienists within a collaborative team, delivering meaningful oral healthcare without the demands of a five-day working week.
This is an excellent option for clinicians who want to maintain their professional skills while enjoying more freedom outside work.
About the Position Our client is looking for a motivated Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist to join our client's team for 2–3 weekdays per week.
You'll take over an established hygiene position with a regular patient base, allowing you to focus on providing high-quality clinical care from the outset.
The position has become available following the departure of an existing Hygienist, creating an opportunity to continue an established program of preventive and periodontal treatment.
The role will initially be offered on a casual basis, with the intention of moving to permanent employment once both parties are satisfied with the arrangement.
With no Saturday or Sunday shifts required, you'll enjoy greater freedom to explore your interests, recharge or spend time with the people who matter most.
Your clinical responsibilities will include:
- Delivering preventive hygiene treatments, including professional scaling and polishing.
- Performing comprehensive periodontal assessments and periodontal charting.
- Providing ongoing periodontal maintenance and gum disease management.
- Applying fluoride treatments and fissure sealants within your scope of practice.
- Educating patients on oral hygiene, gum health and preventive dental care.
- Creating personalised home-care plans to support long-term oral health.
- Maintaining ongoing relationships with regular hygiene patients.
- Supporting recall programs and maintenance plans for restorative and cosmetic dentistry patients.
- Assisting with whitening consultations and related care where appropriate to your qualifications and scope.
- Maintaining accurate clinical notes and excellent infection prevention standards.
- Collaborating with the Dentist and wider dental team to deliver a positive patient experience.
Key Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Dental Hygiene or Oral Health Therapy.
- Current AHPRA registration with the Dental Board of Australia.
- Clinical confidence in preventive dentistry and periodontal maintenance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A positive, enthusiastic and patient-focused approach.
- Ability to manage your own appointments and clinical responsibilities.
- Commitment to maintaining exceptional oral healthcare standards.
- Availability for 2–3 weekdays each week.
- A genuine interest in building long-term patient relationships.
