Watson Fitzgerald & Associates are specialists in the design, manufacture and installation of air conditioning and mechanical service systems used in commercial and industrial applications. Alongside our major projects, our Light Commercial division delivers office and retail fit-outs, medical and allied health suites, childcare and education facilities, hospitality venues, small warehouses and multi-tenancy upgrades across Adelaide.

We are seeking a Light Commerical Project Manager and Estimator that will win and deliver their own projects from start to finish, from site inspections, take-offs, estimating and tendering through to planning, procurement, management of labour and subcontractors (including WHS), commissioning, handover and final account. You will take full commercial ownership of each project and be the primary point of contact for clients, builders and consultants.

The appropriate applicants will have:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management and estimating within HVAC or mechanical services, including delivering multiple concurrent light commercial projects

- Sound working knowledge of split, ducted, packaged and VRF/VRV systems, ventilation, ductwork and refrigerant pipework

- Strong commercial acumen and numerical accuracy, with the ability to manage margin, variations, progress claims and cash flow





- Exceptional organisation and time management skills, and the ability to juggle several projects and quotations at once

- Solid communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills with builders, clients and internal teams

- Current Australian driver’s licence and White Card

- Ability to obtain Australian security clearances as required (e.g. DCAC, DCSI)

Other desirable skills include:

- A trade qualification in refrigeration and air-conditioning, sheet metal or mechanical fitting, and/or a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building or Construction Management

- ARC Refrigerant Handling Licence

- Working knowledge of the NCC (including Section J), relevant Australian Standards and AS4000/AS4902/AS4905 series contracts

- Proficiency with take-off software (e.g. PlanSwift or Bluebeam), MS Project and advanced Excel
