Krumbled Foods is looking for an experienced Food Technologist to join our Product Development team. Reporting to the New Product Development Manager, you'll support the development of new products and optimisation of our existing range, combining hands-on formulation and flavour development with regulatory compliance and technical documentation.
This is a hands-on role working closely with NPD, Quality, Operations, Marketing and external suppliers to bring high-quality, compliant products from concept through to commercialisation. The role will also provide 6 months of parental leave cover for the NPD Manager, offering an opportunity to take on additional responsibility and support the continuity of our product development function during this period.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end new product development (NPD) and existing product improvements.
- Conduct bench trials, formulation and flavour development, with experience in powders and bars essential.
- Ensure compliance with FSANZ requirements and relevant food regulations.
- Prepare and maintain NIPs, formulations, product specifications, allergen declarations, labels and claims substantiation.
- Apply QA/QC and HACCP principles throughout product development and manufacturing.
- Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to source ingredients, optimise formulations and manage product development projects.
- Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) for formulation accuracy and cost control.
About You
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in food technology or product development.
- Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry or a related discipline.
- Practical formulation and flavour development experience, particularly with powders and bars.
- Solid understanding of and interest in human nutrition.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of FSANZ requirements and food regulatory compliance.
- Experience with technical documentation, claims substantiation and HACCP principles.
- TGA or therapeutic goods experience will be highly regarded but is not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
