Practise proactive medicine. Build meaningful patient relationships. Keep advancing your clinical knowledge.
About My Performance Doctor
My Performance Doctor (MPD) is an Australian concierge healthcare practice providing personalised, proactive medical care to individuals and families who place a high priority on their health.
Our patients include CEOs, business founders, elite athletes, thought leaders and their families — people with demanding lives who value a personalised approach to healthcare, continuity of care and a trusted doctor who understands the bigger picture of their health.
Our concierge healthcare model centres on ongoing doctor–patient relationships, individualised healthcare planning, proactive monitoring and coordinated medical care. We work with patients to understand their health priorities, make informed clinical decisions and manage their healthcare needs over time.
We are growing our clinical team and seeking an AHPRA-registered medical practitioner to join us as an independent contractor, taking primary responsibility for an assigned patient panel while contributing to collaborative care across the wider practice.
The opportunity
This is an opportunity to practise within a model built around continuity of care, individualised healthcare planning and ongoing doctor–patient relationships.
As an MPD Doctor, you will manage an assigned patient panel and work with patients over time to understand their health, establish appropriate care plans and coordinate ongoing medical management.
Rather than focusing solely on individual consultations, the role involves appropriate monitoring, clinical follow-through and coordination with other healthcare professionals when required.
You will work within MPD's clinical governance framework, with operational support that allows you to focus on your clinical responsibilities and patient relationships.
What you'll do
- Manage an ongoing patient panel, building trusted relationships with assigned patients and supporting continuity of care over time.
- Conduct comprehensive medical assessments and develop individualised healthcare plans based on clinical assessment, patient preferences and relevant evidence.
- Provide appropriate preventive, acute and chronic disease management within your scope of practice.
- Review investigations and diagnostic results, arrange appropriate follow-up and ensure clinical issues are addressed.
- Coordinate referrals and collaborate with specialists and other healthcare professionals when required.
- Communicate with patients about their care through MPD-approved systems.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and meet applicable professional, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to collaborative care, including appropriate clinical handovers, patient transitions and care coordination across the wider MPD patient base.
Clinical decisions, including decisions about investigations, referrals, prescribing and treatment, must be based on each patient's individual circumstances, relevant evidence and your independent professional judgement.
Clinical collaboration and professional development
MPD values continuous learning, clinical collaboration and staying informed about developments in medical research and evidence-based practice.
As part of the clinical team, you will be expected to:
- Participate in regular clinical grand rounds to discuss cases, share clinical insights and learn from colleagues.
- Stay current with relevant medical research, clinical guidelines and emerging evidence, critically evaluating their application to clinical practice.
- Participate in peer consultation and collaborative clinical discussions to support secure, evidence-informed patient care.
- Maintain ongoing professional development in accordance with applicable CPD requirements.
- Contribute to clinical reflection, quality improvement and a culture of continuous learning.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director and fellow doctors on complex cases, appropriate clinical escalation and care coordination.
We are looking for doctors who are curious, engaged in their profession and committed to continually developing their clinical knowledge.
The support around you
MPD provides administrative and operational support to assist doctors in delivering patient care.
Our Patient Experience Managers coordinate administrative processes, patient communications and logistics, while our digital systems support clinical documentation and ongoing care coordination.
You will have access to the Medical Director and broader clinical team for appropriate clinical discussion, peer collaboration and professional support.
Our clinical governance processes are designed to support patient safety, professional accountability and continuous improvement.
About you
We are looking for a doctor who values clinical quality, ongoing learning and meaningful patient relationships.
You'll bring:
- A recognised medical qualification and current AHPRA registration.
- Appropriate professional indemnity insurance for your scope of practice.
- Experience in general practice or a relevant area of clinical medicine.
- A commitment to evidence-informed, patient-centred clinical decision-making.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with patients.
- A proactive approach to clinical follow-up, investigation management and care coordination.
- Confidence using digital systems to deliver and document care.
- A collaborative approach to clinical discussions, peer learning and career development.
- A genuine interest in keeping up to date with medical research, clinical guidelines and developments relevant to your practice.
An interest or experience in preventive health, men's and women's health, metabolic health or complex care would be valuable.
Working arrangements
- Independent contractor engagement.
- Fully remote delivery of care, where clinically appropriate.
- An assigned patient panel that can develop over time.
- Administrative and operational support.
- Participation in clinical grand rounds and professional development activities.
- Access to clinical collaboration and Medical Director support.
- Remuneration based on the agreed contractor arrangement, patient assignments and clinical responsibilities.
The expected patient panel, clinical responsibilities, availability expectations and remuneration arrangements will be discussed during recruitment.
Interested in joining MPD?
If you believe good medicine means understanding the patient, thinking beyond the immediate presentation and taking an active role in ongoing care, we'd like to hear from you.
We're particularly interested in doctors who enjoy clinical problem-solving, value collaboration and want to remain engaged with developments in their profession.
Apply through SEEK with your CV and a brief cover note outlining your clinical background, interests and what appeals to you about the MPD model.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an initial discussion about the role, clinical model and working arrangements.
