About the Role

Due to continued and increasing demand for our services, we are seeking a Service Technician to join our team who can undertake process monitoring, routine equipment servicing / monitoring, sourcing and procurement, supervision of 3rd parties, plant optimisation, troubleshooting and customer liaison. The successful candidate will be based in Perth and supported by our national engineering team, providing a unique opportunity to accelerate your professional development.

You’ll join our Perth-based operations team providing operational and technical support to a diverse portfolio of water, wastewater, recycled water and desalination plants across Western Australia. One week you might be on Rottnest Island optimising the island’s treatment plants, the next you could be in the Pilbara, on the Coral Coast or in the forests of the South West supporting our regional and tourism clients, with plenty of time back in Perth (or working from home) in between.

You’ll also work closely with, and provide back-up to, our experienced Perth-based Service Technician at a Government wastewater treatment plant,

giving you a strong local support network and the chance to learn from someone who knows these plants inside out.

What you’ll be doing

- Visiting client sites to review plant performance, fine-tune operating settings, calibrate instruments, inspect mechanical equipment and follow up on defects.

- Remotely monitoring plant performance through SCADA and online systems, and helping client operators troubleshoot process and mechanical issues by phone.

- Servicing, maintaining and optimising a wide range of treatment technologies, including membrane bioreactors (MBR), ultrafiltration (UF), reverse osmosis (RO) and desalination, disinfection and chemical dosing systems.

- Planning and coordinating maintenance, sourcing parts and consumables, and supervising specialist contractors on site.

- Training and mentoring client operators so they can run their plants with confidence.

- Preparing clear, practical site visit and performance reports, and helping clients stay on top of their water quality and regulatory requirements.

- Supporting the commissioning and handover of new and upgraded treatment plants.

Why you’ll enjoy working with us

- Flexibility that works for you – genuine flexible working arrangements, including working from home on remote monitoring, reporting and planning days when you’re not needed on site.

- See more of the country – regular travel to island, coastal, outback and South West locations across WA, plus opportunities to travel interstate to support coNEXA sites and projects in other states.

- Variety every day – exposure to local government, tourism, island and remote community clients, and to everything from sewage and recycled water through to groundwater and seawater desalination.

- Learn from experienced people – direct access to our national engineering team and the chance to get involved across the full project life cycle, from design through to commissioning and operation.

- Trust and autonomy – manage your own schedule and client relationships, with the backing of a supportive team whenever you need it.

- Room to grow – ongoing internal and external training, and a career that can grow as demand for our services in WA continues to increase.

- Hands-on experience with membrane systems (MBR, UF or RO), SCADA-controlled plants, or water quality sampling and testing would be an advantage, but isn’t essential – we’ll support you to build these skills.
